Halfway There.

Can you believe that it's June tomorrow?!
It's mind blowing.

I really suck at keeping this blog updated. I have great ideas for it too but constantly seem to get distracted with other projects (i.e. The Adventures of Rick and Tarra, job applications, CPB continuity documents, working out). The list could keep going. I've definitely been keeping myself busy this summer, even without a job. I only wish that I was more organized with my day by setting aside time for each tasks.  Definitely need to take some more breaks off the computer.  Probably gaining weight and losing muscle by sitting here. Boo.

ANYWAY, my buddy Rick found this cool project from Sam who got it from Colin that I may be interested in starting.  It's called Project 365, and you take a picture every day for a year.  You can add a little text with it for some content and keep it like a journal.  I think it's really neat, and probably something I'd like to start as I go through the struggles of post grad life. I just need to finish off my other projects first or really just get more organized.

We'll see what happens. As for now, it's time to apply for more jobs.

Have a happy Memorial day!

Why...

...do I suck at school all of a sudden? I'm positive it's Senioritis.  It's hit me hard this time around.  There's just so much that needs to be done in this final month of school that it stresses me out.  I'm like stressed all the time.  I swear, it's not good for my well-being or those around me.  I'm really bummed that I'm not the student that I used to be.  I just want to take a break, which is why I'm taking a year (or two) off from school.  I just need some time for myself and to rejuvenate in preparation for what ever step I take next.  Well, better get back to work and get some things done.

I just feel like a MAJOR FAILURE right now. :(

Just Realized...

I have written 30 blog posts on The Adventures of Rick and Tarra blog, and there's only 44.  Rick needs to step it up a bit.  I think I might need to take a break for a while from it, considering the following:

1. It's the last month of school.
2. I have a TON of things that need to get done before graduating.
3. I'm graduating.
4. I need to figure out things for graduation (i.e. tickets, announcements, moving, post-grad travel, jobs/internships).
5. I'm constantly tired (no, I don't have mono - I just don't sleep).
6. I need to take care of myself so that I survive the rest of this semester.
7. I need to seriously concentrate on preparing for Confirmation (I don't feel as ready as I should be).
8. I need to write for my numerous communication assignments.
9. I want to spend some fun times with my friends before leaving.

Why did I make this last semester so hard on myself?  I have no idea.  I thought I could handle it, but I'm constantly disappointing myself.  I feel like I'm disappointing those around me as well because I'm sure my failures affect my professors, my classmates, my friends, my parents and more.  I also think I'm not living up to God's goals for me.  Everyone expects so much out of me, and I'm not delivering.  So much pressure.  I can't handle it, which probably explains all my emotional breakdowns. Shoot.

But I do enjoy writing in that blog.  I think I just need to update immediately, instead of days later.  We'll see. Let's buckle down and get down to business!

Less than a month of school left, and I will be a college graduate. (Whoa...that's weird to say).

New Blogging Adventures.

I decided to start another blog up with a friend.

We're constantly in the library seeing people we know, so we thought it would be fun to start a blog about that, complete with pictures and videos. We just finished day one. It's a good start...

Changed View.

You know those moments when you see someone you really respect do something that's out of the ordinary that it changes how you view that person from now on? Yeah, that just happened.

Okay that might be a bit too dramatic. I don't think my perspective has changed that much. I'm mostly just disappointed. I'll still be friends with this person nevertheless. I just feel like when I see them that image will come up, and I might act a little differently around them.

Before this instance, I felt like they had so many good things going for them. Good group of friends. Good morals. Good manners. Involved. Kind. Funny. Interesting. Creative. Smart. Hard-working. Motivated. Cool.

Oh well. People have their secrets. It's just finding out about them that can be a disappointment.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLA! Hope you have a good one! Take care. :)

Lolo & Lola with 5 of 8 daughters @ Auntie Irma's wedding.

Hello...5 months later.

Talk about a hiatus. It's been about 5 months since I've last blogged, and a ton of stuff has happened. I think a year in review is needed here...well, more like a semester in review but you get the gist. More about that later. For now, current events...

In the morning, we're heading up to Cool, Calif., to visit my grandparents on my dad's side. It's been awhile since we've last seen them. Hmm...I'd say during Savannah's graduation party. Whoa. Definitely more than a year then. Well, at least we're going to visit now, right? I just hope it's a good visit - not awkward or whatever.

Today I got a haircut. First one since the last time I got it cut. I love all the layers, but I'm still a little iffy about the bangs. They're sideswept now, but they're not as full as I'd like them to be. Even so, it's definitely an improvement from before. There's a lot of movement and waves, which is awesome! :) Just a matter of figuring out how to style it. Good thing I have a couple weeks to figure that out before starting my final semester at UP.

On January 9, I'm heading back to UP for my last semester. I don't think it has hit me quite yet, but I know it will. I think I'm going to save a blog entry for this whole explanation.

Well, I think I'll leave it at that. More to write later...! :)

Do I look Spanish?

I'm still in Montreal. This week is our last full week here! Craziness! It went by so fast. Tonight, we went out to celebrate Caitlin's birthday. We had dinner, which was alright. I mean, it was just a sandwich place. I was rather disappointed with my order because (1) they left out the chicken which I ordered, (2) there were sweet onions in it, (3) when I asked for the chicken, it turned out to just be chicken salad that had celery in it, and (4) I had to pick out the onions in the celery because I still don't like their textures. On a brighter note, the desserts were delicious, probably should have just ordered that to start. I also had fun with the girls at my table - Amiliah, Tiger, and Megan. They're super awesome! :)

Then we went to a bar, the same one with the free popcorn. Started out alright, sharing a pitcher with a couple girls. Somehow I ended up alone at the table, watching all the bags. Because of my solitude, some guy thinks he can start talking to me. First he claimed that I looked like his friend who's Spanish. Ummm...right. I guess I do kinda look Spanish because the Spaniards conquered the Philippines in like 1521. Then he asked me if I'm from Eastern Europe. I don't know about that one. I don't think I look like I'm from there. He would never have guessed so I just told him. But really it was the most awkward conversation. I'm glad my friends got me out of it. Maybe they didn't even realize they did, but they did. I also found out that Simon is willing to get us out of any awkward situations. Thank goodness! :)

Other than that awkward moment, good times with the group. We'll definitely have to party it up after exams, but for now, it's time to get the study cap on and focus!

In Montreal

I've been in Montreal for a week now. It's been pretty amazing here. I'm still trying to get used to people speaking French though. I'm sure French isn't too hard to learn, but I just don't really understand the language because the letters make different sounds compared to English and Spanish.

Anyway, we're heading to Quebec City this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that. We visited the Parliamentary buildings in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. It was really neat going there.

I've been really busy doing homework and stuff, but I guess that's why they call it a STUDY abroad program. I was so on top of it, but then I got busy hanging out with my new friends, exploring the city, etc. I don't understand why we have so much homework for this weekend though, especially since they know we're not going to be in town. Weird. I'll get back on track soon though.

We've met some Canadians who are really nice. We've also met some folks from other parts of the United States, France and Australia. We got to hang out with them for awhile, which was really fun.

But yeah, I'm recording most of my trip on a private blog because it's easier to do that then keep a journal. I'll keep some general updates here though. Good night! :)
